Does your child love to cook?  Would they like to be more independent in the kitchen?  This camp will teach kitchen safety and sanitation procedures, equipment identification and use, measuring skills, kitchen math and recipe reading. Campers will leave camp with a personalized apron, their own cookbook and a full belly!



General Information
Break the Fast:
Does your child love to cook? Would they like to be more independent in the kitchen? This camp will teach kitchen safety and sanitation procedures, equipment identification and use, measuring skills, kitchen math and recipe reading. Campers will leave camp with a personalized apron, their own cookbook and a full belly! A $25 supply fee is due to the instructor on the first day of camp. No camp on July 4th.

Let's Lunch:
Does your child love to cook? Would they like to be more independent in the kitchen? This class will teach kitchen safety and sanitation procedures, equipment identification and use, measuring skills, kitchen math, and recipe reading. Literacy will be incorporated into this fun, hands-on class as children cook their way through popular book titles such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Dragons Love Tacos, Pizza! A Slice of History, and Everybody Cooks Rice. Participants will leave camp with a personalized apron, cookbook with the week’s recipes, and a full belly!

Charcutier Chefs:
Does your child love to experiment with food? Would they like to be more creative and spice things up while preparing snacks and lunch? Students will learn kitchen safety and sanitation procedures, equipment identification and use, measuring skills, recipe reading, knife skills, garnishing with fresh herbs, and plate presentation! Literacy will be incorporated into this fun, hands-on class as we explore popular book titles such as Tomatoes in My Lunchbox, Lunch Will Never Be the Same and Yasmin the Chef as we prepare themed charcuterie boards. Participants will leave camp with a personalized apron, cookbook with the week’s recipes, and a full belly! Participants must have exceptional listening skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. A $30 supply fee is due to the instructor on the first day of camp.

*Make a full day out of it by signing up for Charcutier Chefs! and staying for Lets Lunch! - Heather O'Keefe will provide a supervised lunch break.*

Instructors's Experience
Heather O'Keefe is a certified family & consumer sciences teacher. She also has a masters in literacy and has taught lab style cooking classes for 16 years.

Transportation Information
Morning Programs 9:00-11:00AM - Bus Transportation Available both to/from camp.
Afternoon Program 12:00-2:00PM - Bus Transportation available to camp only - campers must be picked up at the end of the program.

Registration is required for all transportation.
