Dear Families,
Spring Break Camp Options Are Here!
Give your child an exciting week filled with activities, games, and new friends. We’re offering two amazing camp options for your kiddos to choose from, and spots are filling quickly. Make sure to secure your child’s place — registration closes on Monday, April 6th. Don’t miss out on this chance for your child to enjoy one of the fantastic options below!
We can't wait any longer to share this with you! Registration will now open a full week earlier than planned! Instead of March 27, you can jump in and register starting Friday, March 20 at 12:01am . If you have a child in one of the Guilderland Elementary Schools, keep your eye on the backpack mail the week of March 16th! Summer is almost here, and we are thrilled to give our families this head start — get ready, it’s almost go time!
This year is shaping up to be absolutely incredible — we’re rolling out brand new programs , bringing back fan favorites , and of course, offering the always-loved Tawasentha ½ Day Camp . Whatever your child is into, there’s something fun, engaging, and unforgettable waiting for them. Most of our programs will run Monday, June 29 through Friday, August 7 giving families six full weeks of summer adventure.
We’re excited to announce that Books & Cooks and Wet-N-Wild Camps will be returning for another summer. These camps did not make it into our printed program; however, you can find both of them—along with all other camp options at guilderlandrec.com .
Need transportation? We’ve got you covered.
During this six-week period, we’re offering transportation for our programs. To use this service, simply register for “Transportation for Summer Camp” — the cost is $20 per camper per week for round-trip service. If you only need one-way transportation, just give the Recreation Office a call and we will help adjust the cost.
Does your child know how to swim?
If not, this summer is the perfect time to learn! Our Learn-to-Swim Program at Tawasentha Park is a fantastic way for children ages 5–13 to build confidence in the water. Whether they’re brand-new to swimming or ready to strengthen their skills, our program helps them grow into safer, stronger swimmers.
In addition to the lessons offered during the Tawasentha ½ Day Camp, we’re also running four full sessions of swim lessons throughout the summer — giving families plenty of opportunities to dive in.
Give your child a skill that lasts a lifetime. This summer, the water is calling.
Don’t Forget… .
The Camp Tag , now consolidated with the Release Authorization Form, was revised to enhance the accuracy of camper information, improve weekly communication, and strengthen record-keeping procedures for emergency evacuations. All campers need a camp tag if they are:
- Attending morning Sports or Enrichment programs
- Riding the bus
- Participating in Tawasentha Day Camp
Click the following link to access the Camp Tag.
Additionally, the Department of Health requires that all Tawasentha ½ Day Camp participants, including JVC's, have their most recent immunization records on file. Please upload these documents to your child’s profile by following these steps:
- Visit guilderlandrec.com and sign into your account
- Click “Members” and then select the applicable name
- Scroll to the bottom of the profile and click “Add New Member Document”
- Select “Immunizations Records”
- Click “Next”
- Browse and upload the document you want to submit
- Click on “Complete Review”
If you experience any issues with the immunization records, please contact the Recreation Office or email summercamphealthrecords@townofguilderland.gov.
Programs fill quickly once registration goes live , so jumping in early is the best way to make sure your child gets a spot in the activities they’re most excited about.
We want to let you know that Guilderland Elementary School won’t be available for our summer camp programs this year as originally planned. Because of this, any camp listed at that location has been moved. We encourage you to check the online details for the program your family is interested in for the new location. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this change may cause. At the same time, we’re excited to still offer these wonderful camp experiences — just in a new spot — and we can’t wait to welcome your child for a fun and memorable summer.
Tawasentha Park’s pool is scheduled to open, weather permitting, on Saturday, June 13, with its pool house, splash pad, facilities, lockers, private showers, free Wi-Fi, and the Cabana available for rent. Please pick-up a free vehicle sticker for Tawasentha Park and the Transfer Station by bringing your vehicle registration and proof of Town residence to the Parks & Recreation office, Town Clerk, or Transfer Station.
Tawasentha Park is the home of the recently renovated Guilderland Performing Arts Center with terraced platform seating and a new patio dance area. The 2026 summer season takes place on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm, and runs from June 25 to August 13. Performances are free and open to all!
To get started, please create an account and enter your household information. Providing details such as emergency contacts and medical information helps us better serve your family, and this information will automatically populate your registration forms. When you’re ready to sign up for activities, be sure to review our How to Register for an Activity page.
Summer is right around the corner, and we’re delighted to give our community an early start. Get ready — it’s almost go time! We're looking forward to a wonderful 2026 season and another great summer!
