Peter G. Barber, Guilderland Town Supervisor, Welcomes You to

Guilderland Families,
Summer 2021 and our summer recreation programs are right around the corner!  If you haven't taken a look, our Virtual Summer Programming Brochure is up on the home page, and all camps and swim lessons are open for registration!  Currently, camp registrations are limited to Guilderland Residents and GCSD Students only.  Starting May 3rd, campers from other towns will be able to register for sports & enrichment camps!  (Swim lessons will only be available to Guilderland Residents this summer)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions/guidance, we will not offer bus transportation for camp programs this summer.  All camps will require camper drop off and pick up.  If there are specific drop off/pick up instruction for your programs, we will email them out to you prior to the start of the camp!
As of now, all of our programs will still follow our Recreation Programming COVID-19 Participant Guidance from 2020.  If the County and State Department of Health release new guidance for this summer, we will update the link on our webpage and let all families know of the changes.  If you are planning to register for programs this summer, please make sure to read the guidance, upload your campers updated immunization records, update your account with two current Emergency Contacts, and opt in to the email and text notifications!
The Tawasentha 1/2 Day Camp is back this year, and there will be an option to sign up for a waitlist for Day Camp with swim lessons!  Swim lesson numbers are capped this summer to maintain spacing in the pool.  You will receive confirmation of your child's swim lesson registration the Thursday before the session starts. Payment will be due at the time of confirmation of registration and must be received to secure a spot on the roster. Your child is welcome to join us for our regular day camp program if he/she doesn't get into swim lessons. We will work to accommodate as many young swimmers as possible.

Many of our enrichment and sports programs have returned this summer, along with a couple new offerings!  These programs will be capped to follow current camp size limits, and will follow our
Recreation Programming COVID-19 Participant Guidance as well as Guilderland Central School District COVID protocols .  If the approved camp size increases, families on the wait list will be contacted and given the opportunity to participate in the camp.  If any additional adjustments not currently noted need to be made, an email will go out to participating families.

Tawasentha Pool is slated to open on Saturday, June 19th pending DOH inspection.  We believe that the Pool COVID Action Plan from 2020 will apply again this year with some minor changes.  Swim lessons will be back again this year – Check out page 10 of the Summer Programs Brochure and the Learn to Swim registration page for more information!  We will also offer our Lifeguard Certification course this summer – Info on page 7 of the Brochure!
Our office is located at 181 Route 146, Altamont, NY – We are open Monday – Friday 8am – 3:30pm.  Please call our office at 518-456-3150 if you have any questions!  Looking forward to seeing you in our programs this summer!
