Guilderland Youth Cross Country

The Guilderland Youth Cross Country program offers athletes the complete competitive running experience in a low pressure, friendly, and extremely fun environment. Athletes will train on the beautiful trails of Tawasentha Park as they work to improve their endurance, strength, and agility. The staff of experienced coaches will use fun and exciting games, drills, and workouts to help the athletes gain a love for running and reach their full potential. Athletes will be encouraged to set goals and work towards achieving their goals at youth cross country meets.
Running

The program runs on Mondays and Thursday from 5:30 - 6:45pm (9/16 - 10/31)

The coaches will meet all participants in the grass oval area by the Pool.

A $35 materials fee will be collected by the coach on the first day of the camp.



Instructor's Experience
Chris Scanlan: Chris is a P.E. teacher and a coach for the Guilderland Central School District. He has taught P.E. at both the high school and elementary levels. Chris is currently a P.E. teacher at Guilderland Elementary. Chris coaches Cross Country, Indoor Track and Girls' Varsity Outdoor Track at Guilderland High School. Chris has been a competitive runner for more than 20 years.

Julianne Scanlan: Julianne is the head coach for the Guilderland boys Cross Country team, and coaches distance runners for the boys Outdoor Track Team. Julianne is a physical therapist who specializes in pediatrics. Julianne has been a competitive runner at both the high school and collegiate levels. She has been running competitively for many years, mostly in distance and trail running events. Julianne has expansive training in the field of health and wellness.
