Outdoor Yoga
An outdoor yoga class is a unique and refreshing way to practice yoga amid the beauty and sounds of nature. In this class, students will be guided through a series of yoga postures and flows as well as practice breathing techniques and meditation, appropriate for all levels of experience, including beginners.

General Description
  • The class will focus on proper alignment, mindful movement and cultivation of awareness as students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and modify as needed to ensure a comfortable, safe and enjoyable practice.
  • The purpose of outdoor yoga is to enjoy nature while getting fit at the same time an ideal way for people who love spending time outdoors.
  • Yoga performed outdoors is thought to allow the body to circulate and move energy more freely.
  • First class will meet at the Oval grass area by the pool.
  • Please bring your own yoga mat, sun block & bug repellent, and a water bottle.
  • Option to register for a single session for $5 or $35 for the full 8 weeks. Please call the Parks and Recreation office to complete single day registrations (518) 456-3150.

Instructor's Experience
  • Sally Drake has been practicing yoga in the Capital District since 2011.
  • She earned a 200-hour training certificate from Styles Yoga and is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher. In addition to yoga, Sally has been active in the local running community for twenty years and enjoys recreational cycling on area bike trails.
  • She is passionate about yoga and its many benefits to our physical and mental health, and about sharing that passion by teaching fun, welcoming and creative classes in the community.
