Introduction to Acoustic Guitar (Beginner)

Who is ready to learn a new instrument? Bring your acoustic guitar and come join Miss De Libero to get started! In this course, you will learn about notes, scales, chords, and even how to read tablature for your favorite songs. Remember, practice makes perfect and the summer is the perfect time to enhance your talent!

General Information
  • The program will be six classes - Mondays & Wednesday only for 3 weeks beginning 7/18
  • There are 2 time slots available - Session 1 is 9:00-10:00am, and Session 2 is 10:15-11:15am
  • Children should bring their own guitar!
  • Child's Age / Recommended Guitar / Guitar Size
  • 5-8 / ½ size (or smaller) / ~ 34 in / 86 cm
  • 8-12 / ¾ size (or smaller) / ~ 36 in / 92 cm
  • 12+ / full size / ~ 40 in / 100 cm

Instructors Experience
  • Emily De Libero is a local Speech Language Pathologist and musician. She has 15 years of guitar experience and has worked in the school setting with children for over 10 years. Emily incorporates and teaches music regularly in her speech therapy sessions. Emily is creative and immensely involved in her craft. She also sings and enjoys performing original and cover songs on her guitar.
  • Prior to college, she worked for Wildwood Programs’ summer extension program as a teaching assistant. Since obtaining her degree in speech and language pathology, she has worked in the preschool and hospital setting. Currently, she works for Hudson Falls School District. She has experience providing group and individual instruction for speech and language.
