RED DAWN FOOTBALL CAMP IS HERE!!!
Whether you have experience playing or have an interest in trying football for the first time, the Junior Dutchmen Football Camp is designed for you. This camp is structured around teaching the fundamentals of the game in a safe, supportive environment that progresses based on each player's ability and skill level.
Each day will be packed with activities that have campers (grouped by age and ability level) actively learning the fundamentals of the game at every offensive and defensive position, including:
- Stance and start for each position on the field
- Passing, catching, ball carrying, and route running
- Defensive run pursuit, pass drops and understanding field areas
- Basic offensive and defensive formations, plays and schemes
- Sound blocking and tackling, with a comprehensive teaching of body position and leverage to help players safely get comfortable with and acclimate to the contact within the game
Each night campers will have a portion of camp dedicated to offense and to defense. They will be grouped with players of similar ages and ability levels and will have the opportunity to focus on particular positions as the week progresses. The camp concludes with controlled intra-squad scrimmages!
General Information
Campers should bring water or a sports drink, a properly fitted mouthguard and cleats each night.
Come dressed in full football equipment, which can be obtained from the Guilderland Pop Warner or Guilderland Farnsworth Middle School Football programs.
Check in begins at 5:45pm.

Guilderland Varsity football head coach Dan Penna is in his 22nd year leading the Guilderland High School program and has been leading the Guilderland High School program and has been a Guilderland Teacher for 29 years.
