RED DAWN FOOTBALL CAMP IS HERE!!!

General Information
  • Each day will be packed with activities that have campers (grouped by age and ability level) actively learning the fundamentals of the game at every position on offense and defense position, including:
  • Stance and start for each position on the field.
  • Passing, catching, ball carrying and route running.
  • Defensive run pursuit, pass drops and understanding field areas.
  • Basic offensive and defensive formations, players and schemes.
  • Sound blocking and tackling, with a comprehensive teaching of body position and leverage to help players safely get comfortable with and acclimate to the contact within the game.
  • Players will be grouped with players of similar ages and ability levels and will have the opportunity to focus on particular positions as the week progresses.
  • The camp concludes with a controlled intrasquad scrimmages!
  • Come dresses in full football equipment, which can be obtained from the Guilderland Pop Warner or Guilderland FMS football programs.
  • Campers should be comfortably dressed for outdoor activities (T-shirts, shorts or sweats, sneakers or cleats). Bring a water bottle.

Instructor's Experience
  • Guilderland Varsity football head coach Dan Penna is in his 21th year leading the GHS program and has been a Guilderland teacher for 28 years. Campers will receive specialized instruction from each member of the GHS coaching staff.
