Dear Families,

For nearly 45 years, the Guilderland Parks & Recreation Department has offered exceptional programming that promotes fun, fitness and a wide variety of activities designed to enrich your child’s summer experience. Although it may be a little chilly, we are excited about summer. Registration for all of our Town Summer Programs open at 12:01am on Saturday, April 1st!! Sign up for your favorite camps and try some of our new ones as well!

Tawasentha 1/2 Day Camp is back for another great summer! The program is half day starting Monday, June 26^th and is offered to children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. There will be six one-week sessions of regular camp, three two-week session of day camp with swim lessons and the day camp will end on Friday, August 4th. Camp will be from 8:00am to 12:00pm – a half hour time block at the beginning and end of each day is allotted for our pickup and drop off process. The summer camp office is located at the Large Pavilion in Tawasentha Park. Besides the Tawasentha 1/2 Day Camp program, residents will have a variety of sports camps and enrichment camps from which to choose. The pool at Tawasentha Park will once again open for the summer and offer several weeks of the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program taught by certified lifeguards.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SPORTS AND ENRICHMENT CAMPS AND THE TAWASENTHA 1/2 DAY CAMP WILL BE CLOSED ON TUESDAY, JULY 4th, 2023.

NEW FOR 2023:

Beginning January 1^st, 2023, a non-refundable 1.5% processing fee added to each credit card transaction. This will automatically be charged to your card at the time of registration.

Refunds for withdrawal from camps are issued for medical reasons only upon receipt of a doctor’s note. A $15 cancellation fee will be charged to all refunds unless the camp is cancelled by the Town. Refunds will be issued for a withdrawal for any other reason if the request is made at least 7 days prior to the beginning of a camp. Credit card refunds will be processed after the 15^th of the following month. Cancellations are processed through the Recreation Office upon request.

A $5 transfer fee will be charged to any transfer requests made prior to the start of either camp and if there is space available. No refunds or transfers are made once camp has begun.

We are organizing the return of bus transportation for our summer programming. More information will follow as we finalize the details.

Families can enjoy our pocket parks, GPAC concert series on Thursday nights at 7:30pm, National Night Out (August 1, 2023), golf at Western Turnpike Golf Course and the use of over 5 miles of trails at Tawasentha Park, the Winter Recreation Area (adjacent to the park) and the Community Gardens.
